Education is the fastest route out of generational poverty, so we work on the whole system around a learner: the building, the teacher, the family budget and the barriers that keep girls out of school.
Education Within Reach
- ACBF prioritizes education — especially for women and youths in the remote, rural areas of sub-Saharan Africa.
- Educating women and girls in particular improves the well-being of entire communities; this is particularly true in areas of the world where child marriage, prostitution and early pregnancy can appear to be the only viable alternatives.
- Education is an essential component of our goal to eradicate poverty in Africa.
- ACBF combats financial, cultural and social barriers to education.
- We deploy a multi-tiered approach including scholarships and grants to enable women and at-risk youths to complete training and succeed.
- We are an implementation partner developing educational programs in rural communities that specifically address gender inequality.
- ACBF partners with local, community-based non-profits in order to develop programs that are tailored to and led by people from the communities served.
